SEASON'S GREETINGS
WHAT indeed. In 2024 we presented probably and/or possibly the FIRST OF ITS KIND calendar dedicated to the brutal aesthetic of the metallic monster that is the electricity PYLON. It seemed like a good idea at the time but to be honest, we had visions of chucking the first small batch into the recycling come January. We were wrong - lots of people like pylons.
WHAT?
We've always had a bit of a soft spot for these much-overlooked but ever-present features of our landscape. We thought there must have been a calendar. There are loads of ones devoted to popstars, sports teams, cars and guinea pigs after all. But no - not a bean. So we began looking into the details of what all the bits on a PYLON do and where the transmission lines go across the UK to seek out some interesting pictures. And all in the short space of time needed to knock this out ready for last Christmas!
WHY?
Our intention is to keep making a PYLONS CALENDAR each year until there is no longer demand for pictures of these steel behemoths. Or until we run out of pylons to photograph. Additionally we are adding other random publications to the portfolio, often generated by a fleeting idea that got taken just a little bit too far.
